If you are preparing for a retake, speak to me or Ms. Hipp to narrow down the areas you should focus on.

If you are taking the B.E.S.T. for the first time, you can either go in order from the beginning, or focus on the areas you feel you are weakest in.

Practice Test:

Please, use this practice test to get familiar with how to enter responses, explore the types of questions you may see (multiple choice, multiselect, etc.), how to use the calculator, and how to access the formula sheet.

The questions on these practice tests are usually harder than the ones on the actual test, so your score is not necessarily going to reflect how you will perform on the real test.

Review Videos:

This teacher has great videos to go over some of the most tested items.  I posted one I found helpful, but he has several others listed in the COMMENTS of this video.

Khan Academy Study Guide: Focus on Unit 2 (Algebra) and Unit 4 (Advanced Math) as they each make up 35% of the test.  Once you're confident in those, work on Unit 5 (Geometry) and then Unit 3 (Problem Solving and Data Analysis).  They both make up smaller portions of the test.

dSAT Graphing Calculator: You can use a regular calculator too, but getting comfortable with the graphing calculator may give you an advantage on certain questions.  You can get a tutorial on using this calculator here.

The dSAT has two 22 questions modules.  The first module is basically the same for everyone.  The second module has two versions, an easy and a hard version, based on your answers to module 1.  If you do well on module 1, you'll get the harder version of module 2 but this is a GOOD THING!  That means you got most of the questions correct in module 1 and don't need to get many right in module 2 to get a passing score.  If you get easier questions in module 2, that's ok too!  You'll have to get more questions right in the second module, but they'll be easier to answer.  You can get a passing score with either version.
